The New Zealand Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (NZAPWS) brings together New Zealand’s producers and users of steam across fossil, industrial, geothermal, biomass, and emerging electrical boiler systems. Formed in 2012, the association provides a national forum for sharing practical experience, research insights, and best‑practice guidance on water and steam chemistry.
NZAPWS connects industry practitioners, researchers, equipment suppliers, and laboratories, and serves as New Zealand’s link to the International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS). Through workshops, symposia, and technical exchanges, the association supports safe, efficient, and reliable steam‑cycle operation across the country.
As a partner association for the Pressure Equipment Workshop, NZAPWS contributes deep expertise in water‑steam properties, chemistry control, and operational reliability — strengthening the technical foundations that underpin safe pressure equipment design and performance in New Zealand.
